Calculate Australian CGTRecord income and the new purchase separately
Use the dividend statement for franked and unfranked income, franking credits and any tax withheld. Use the reinvestment allocation for the new shares, acquisition date and cost. A broker export may omit registry-administered reinvestments.

Start a separate parcel for each allocation
Do not add the new units to the original parcel at its original date. Each allocation has its own cost and holding period. When part of the holding is sold, its identified parcels determine the gain and any current-rule discount.
Reconcile the registry with the broker
Add the missing purchase using the FiscalFox trade list when it is not already in the import. Keep the registry statement so the new quantity, amount and date can be traced. If a purchase is already present, do not add it again.

For an ETF, keep the AMMA statement too
Reinvesting a fund distribution creates an acquisition record, while the fund’s annual tax statement supplies the attributed income and cost base adjustment. The reinvestment amount alone does not replace that statement.
Questions and answers
Are reinvested dividends tax free?
No. The income is still reported using the dividend statement even when it buys more shares.
Do reinvested units qualify for the discount immediately?
No. A new parcel begins on its own acquisition date. In current-rule years it needs its own qualifying 12-month holding period.
