Interactive Brokers CGT calculator Ireland: Activity Flex CSV

For Irish share CGT, upload an Interactive Brokers Activity Flex Query CSV with trade executions and ISINs. The Irish importer uses this trade table to build the acquisition and disposal history; the standard Activity Statement is a different export.

How to export and upload your trades

    1. In Client Portal, open Performance & Reports → Flex Queries and create an Activity Flex Query.
    2. Select only the Trades section. Set the level of detail to Executions rather than symbol summaries.
    3. Include ISIN, Trade Date, Buy/Sell, Quantity, Trade Price, Proceeds, IB Commission and Currency.
    4. Choose CSV, include column headers, exclude header and trailer records, and use yyyy-MM-dd dates.
    5. Run and download the query for each year needed to cover the purchases behind your disposals. Upload those CSVs to FiscalFox Ireland.

Keep the Irish export separate from the UK export

The Irish importer expects a trade table with security identifiers and execution-level rows. The UK FiscalFox workflow supports different IBKR statement layouts, so exporting a file recommended for the UK does not establish that it fits the Irish reader.

FiscalFox first recognises the columns, then reads the trades with deterministic code. A multi-section standard Activity Statement can mix headings, subtotals and sections; use the Activity Flex CSV described above for this journey.

    Include the original acquisition history

Use all relevant purchase and sale years, not only the year in which the shares were sold. Keep transfer records from previous brokers and acquisition evidence for positions that first appear as an opening balance.

The Irish calculation uses the cost matched under Irish share-identification rules and dated euro values. IBKR’s realised P&L or its selected tax lot is useful reconciliation evidence, but it is not a replacement for that computation.

    What the trade-only query covers

A query containing only Trades does not bring in a full dividend or interest history. Keep those separate statements for the income side of your return. This calculator’s Irish share workflow does not cover options, futures or CFDs.

Download the computation and matching schedule once you have reviewed the selected year. Each disposal can be reconciled to the imported trade rows. The supporting pack is currently free; FiscalFox does not file the return.
