Who FiscalFox Ireland is for
Individuals who are resident and domiciled in Ireland and sold shares or ETFs through a broker in 2025 or 2026. The Irish tax year is the calendar year, so 2025 covers sales from 1 January to 31 December 2025.
Company shares
Capital gains tax at 33%, or 31% for sales from 7 October 2026. FiscalFox applies the €1,270 annual exemption, first in, first out matching, the four-week rule and the restriction on losses when you buy back within four weeks. Same-class splits, consolidations, bonus issues, rights issues and losses brought forward are included.
ETFs and investment funds
Exit tax at 41% for 2025 and 38% for 2026, once you confirm the fund is taxed under a standard exit tax regime. Each holding gets its own eight-year deemed disposal date, and tax you paid on an earlier deemed disposal is credited when you enter it. Fund losses are not set against other gains.
Dividends and interest
Kept apart from your gains. Your pack lists Irish, UK and other foreign dividends, deposit interest and fund distributions, with the gross amount and any tax withheld, to help with the income sections of your return. It does not calculate income tax, USC or PRSI.
Some investments, such as CFDs, crypto and employee share schemes, need a different calculation. FiscalFox flags them when it finds them in your files. See what's included
How it works
- Step 1
Upload your broker history
Choose your broker and add your CSV or Excel exports, starting from the first purchase of anything you sold. Combine brokers and accounts in one calculation. You don't need an account: your history stays on this device unless you sign in to save it.
- Step 2
Review each investment
FiscalFox converts every trade to euro with European Central Bank reference rates, matches each sale to its purchases and shows the gain or loss. Confirm how each fund is taxed, confirm your history is complete for the year, and resolve anything flagged before you rely on the figures.
- Step 3
Download your tax pack
Get the PDF computation, the CSV workings and your original files in one ZIP. Use it to complete your Form 11 or CG1, pay Revenue by the deadline, and keep it as your record. FiscalFox does not file your return or pay your tax.
Choose a broker to begin.
Pick yours and we'll show you which file to export. Combine brokers in the same free calculation. Trading 212, Revolut, eToro and IG exports are read directly in your browser. For DEGIRO, Interactive Brokers, Saxo and other brokers, FiscalFox recognises the columns in your export, then reads every row with the same code.
Don't see your broker?
Upload its CSV or single-sheet Excel transaction export. AI recognises the columns, then FiscalFox reads every trade.
Your export needs dated buys and sells with quantities and cash amounts, up to 10 MB per file. Where it lists investments by ticker rather than ISIN, FiscalFox matches them to your other files or asks you to confirm each one. PDF statements aren't supported yet. Broker formats change, so check the imported trades against your statement before using the figures.
To recognise the columns of an export from a broker other than Trading 212, Revolut, eToro or IG, up to 65 rows are sent to our AI provider, Anthropic. The calculation itself runs in your browser. Read the privacy policy.

Irish capital gains tax on shares: the key rules
Short answers, each linked to the Revenue guidance it comes from. Written by the FiscalFox team; sources checked 13 October 2026.
- What is the CGT rate in Ireland?
- For most gains, 33% on disposals up to 6 October 2026 and 31% on disposals from 7 October 2026. A 2026 calculation of share gains can include both rates. Revenue source
- How much of a gain is tax-free?
- The first €1,270 of your net chargeable gains each year. It is shared across all your gains, not given per broker. Revenue source
- Which purchase is matched to a sale?
- Normally the oldest shares first. Shares of the same class bought in the four weeks before a sale are matched first. If you sell at a loss and buy the same shares back within four weeks, that loss can only be used against a gain on the replacement shares. Revenue source
- When is Irish CGT paid?
- By 15 December for disposals from 1 January to 30 November, and by 31 January of the following year for December disposals. Revenue source
- When is the return due?
- By 31 October of the year after the disposal, on Form 11 or form CG1. For 2025, a Form 11 both filed and paid through ROS is due by 18 November 2026. Capital gains can't be reported on the online eForm 12. Revenue source
- How are ETFs taxed?
- ETFs and funds in the exit tax regime are taxed at 41% in 2025 and 38% in 2026, with a deemed disposal every eight years. Whether a fund is in that regime depends on its legal form and domicile, so check before choosing a treatment. Revenue source

Questions, answered.
Is FiscalFox Ireland free?
Yes. Calculating your gains and downloading the full tax pack are currently free. You don't need a card, and you can start without an account.
Which brokers does it work with?
Trading 212, Revolut, eToro and IG exports are read directly. DEGIRO, Interactive Brokers, Saxo and other brokers work when their transaction export is a CSV or single-sheet Excel file with dated trades, quantities, cash amounts and ISINs. Check the imported trades against your broker statement before relying on the result.
Does FiscalFox file my return or pay Revenue?
No. FiscalFox prepares the computation and supporting records. You file your Form 11 or CG1 and pay the tax yourself.
Does it calculate exit tax and deemed disposal on ETFs?
Yes, for holdings you confirm are in a standard exit tax regime: an equivalent EU, EEA or OECD offshore fund, or an Irish ETF held through a recognised clearing system. It applies 41% for 2025 and 38% for 2026 and tracks each eight-year anniversary. Funds that deduct tax for you and personal portfolio investment undertakings are not covered.
How are trades in dollars or sterling converted to euro?
Each trade is converted with the European Central Bank reference rate for its date, or the last rate published before it. The rate and its source are recorded in your tax pack next to the original amount.
Which tax years are supported?
2025 and 2026. The Irish tax year is the calendar year, and you can calculate 2026 so far before the year ends.
What happens to my files?
Your history is stored on your device, and in your private account if you sign in. Trading 212, Revolut, eToro and IG exports are read in your browser. For other brokers, up to 65 rows are sent to Anthropic to recognise the export's columns, then FiscalFox reads the whole file and calculates with its own code.
Is this tax advice?
No. FiscalFox applies Revenue's published rules to the records you upload and shows its workings so you or your adviser can check them. For anything outside the supported scope, speak to a tax adviser.
