Download and add your Bell Direct history

    1. Log in on the Bell Direct website and go to Portfolio and Reporting › Reports › Statements and Invoices › Contract Note History.
    2. Set the dates from your first purchase to today. Export the completed-trade table to Excel if available; if you only have PDF contract notes, enter their trades in the FiscalFox trade list.
    3. Open the Australian calculator with your broker selected and add the original CSV or Excel files. Review the income year you need and download the workings.

    Choose the supported workbook

The native reader expects Date Completed, Buy/Sell, Stock Code, Quantity, Average Transacted Price, Trade Value, Contract and Brokerage. Use actual executed trades rather than open or cancelled orders.

    Complete the Bell Direct records

Export choices can vary by account. If you have PDF notes only, enter their trade date, units, consideration and fees in the FiscalFox trade list, retaining the notes. The broker’s current help locates contract notes under Portfolio and Reporting, Reports, Statements and Invoices.

    Calculate the Australian income year

Include the acquisitions behind the year’s sales, even when you bought years earlier. FiscalFox keeps parcels and their dates, converts covered foreign trades to AUD and applies capital losses before any current-rule discount.

Review the affected year’s results and download the item 18 workings. The 50% discount applies to qualifying resident-individual gains under the rules through 30 June 2027; holdings that cross the reform date also need their transition valuation.

    Questions and answers

Which Bell Direct file does FiscalFox need?

Find Contract Note History and export the completed-trade table to Excel if available. Completed orders have corresponding contract notes; keep those as the source evidence.

Is the Bell Direct profit figure my Australian taxable gain?

Use it as a cross-check. Australian CGT depends on the parcels, original costs, AUD conversions, capital losses and applicable discount; the calculator rebuilds those figures from the records.

Do I need earlier purchases as well as this year’s sales?

Yes, whenever a sale uses shares bought before the income year. Include the original acquisitions and any relevant transfers, reinvestments or fund cost base adjustments.
