Choose the supported workbook
FiscalFox reads share acquisition and disposal records from the workbook and calculates in AUD. A USD profit or cash withdrawal is not the Australian capital gain, so retain currencies, quantities and original dates.
Complete the eToro records
The account can contain CFDs, short or leveraged positions and crypto as well as ordinary shares. This guide covers ordinary share CGT: those other instruments are not made eligible for the share discount by appearing in the same workbook.

Calculate the Australian income year
Include the acquisitions behind the year’s sales, even when you bought years earlier. FiscalFox keeps parcels and their dates, converts covered foreign trades to AUD and applies capital losses before any current-rule discount.
Review the affected year’s results and download the item 18 workings. The 50% discount applies to qualifying resident-individual gains under the rules through 30 June 2027; holdings that cross the reform date also need their transition valuation.

Questions and answers
Which eToro file does FiscalFox need?
Download the complete Account Statement as Excel for the required custom dates. Keep the workbook intact so the trade and account activity sections remain available.
Is the eToro profit figure my Australian taxable gain?
Use it as a cross-check. Australian CGT depends on the parcels, original costs, AUD conversions, capital losses and applicable discount; the calculator rebuilds those figures from the records.
Do I need earlier purchases as well as this year’s sales?
Yes, whenever a sale uses shares bought before the income year. Include the original acquisitions and any relevant transfers, reinvestments or fund cost base adjustments.
