Choose the supported trade export
Include Trades with date, symbol, ISIN, listing exchange, quantity, net cash and currency. Cash Transactions bring in dividends. Keep original currencies: an IBKR base-currency profit is not the AUD cost and proceeds calculation.
Complete the Interactive Brokers records
A calendar-year report does not align with Australia’s 1 July–30 June income year. Export all periods needed for the purchases and sales, then choose the Australian income year in FiscalFox. Keep corporate action and transfer evidence alongside the trade history.
Calculate the Australian income year
Include the acquisitions behind the year’s sales, even when you bought years earlier. FiscalFox keeps parcels and their dates, converts covered foreign trades to AUD and applies capital losses before any current-rule discount.
Review the affected year’s results and download the item 18 workings. The 50% discount applies to qualifying resident-individual gains under the rules through 30 June 2027; holdings that cross the reform date also need their transition valuation.

Questions and answers
Which Interactive Brokers file does FiscalFox need?
Create an Activity Flex Query as CSV. FiscalFox uses that export rather than the many-section Activity Statement to rebuild Australian parcel gains.
Is the Interactive Brokers profit figure my Australian taxable gain?
Use it as a cross-check. Australian CGT depends on the parcels, original costs, AUD conversions, capital losses and applicable discount; the calculator rebuilds those figures from the records.
Do I need earlier purchases as well as this year’s sales?
Yes, whenever a sale uses shares bought before the income year. Include the original acquisitions and any relevant transfers, reinvestments or fund cost base adjustments.
