Download and add your nabtrade history

    1. Log in on the nabtrade website and go to Portfolio › Portfolio Snapshot, then choose the account.
    2. Open Confirmations for the account, set the dates from your first purchase to today and export it as CSV. On the newer platform, Portfolio › Confirmations opens the same records.
    3. Repeat for each account. For international trades, keep the original currency amounts and use the FiscalFox trade list where needed; the native Confirmations layout covers domestic AUD trades.
    4. Open the Australian calculator with your broker selected and add the original CSV or Excel files. Review the income year you need and download the workings.

    Choose the supported trade export

The native nabtrade layout identifies Date, Action, Code, Quantity, Avg. Price, Settl. Value, Confirmation No. and Fees. Preserve each account’s history and the purchase evidence behind transferred holdings.

    Complete the nabtrade records

nabtrade has both domestic and international accounts. The native domestic layout is treated as AUD; for international trades use records that identify the original currency and amounts, adding them in the trade list where needed.

    Calculate the Australian income year

Include the acquisitions behind the year’s sales, even when you bought years earlier. FiscalFox keeps parcels and their dates, converts covered foreign trades to AUD and applies capital losses before any current-rule discount.

Review the affected year’s results and download the item 18 workings. The 50% discount applies to qualifying resident-individual gains under the rules through 30 June 2027; holdings that cross the reform date also need their transition valuation.

    Questions and answers

Which nabtrade file does FiscalFox need?

Export the Confirmations page as CSV. It contains share quantities and trade details; cash transaction history is a different report.

Is the nabtrade profit figure my Australian taxable gain?

Use it as a cross-check. Australian CGT depends on the parcels, original costs, AUD conversions, capital losses and applicable discount; the calculator rebuilds those figures from the records.

Do I need earlier purchases as well as this year’s sales?

Yes, whenever a sale uses shares bought before the income year. Include the original acquisitions and any relevant transfers, reinvestments or fund cost base adjustments.
